Our mission is to empower every child to flourish and thrive both as individuals and within a group dynamic.  We are dedicated to p roviding support needed by teachers to ensure that every child meets or exceeds their developmental milestone. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their greatest potential.

Sonya Fleming is a distinguished educator whose career has been marked by a deep commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments. With a remarkable 25-year journey in education, she has held a diverse array of roles, making significant contributions at every turn. Her unwavering dedication to the field has earned her a well-deserved reputation as a multifaceted educational professional.

Throughout her career, Sonya has donned various hats, from being an exceptional special education teacher to a college educator, director, coordinator, mentor, early interventionist, and passionate advocate. Her expertise spans a quarter-century of rich and diverse experiences, notably 21 years devoted to teaching students with intellectual disabilities within the special education spectrum. Sonya’s heart lies in this specialized domain as she firmly believes in the unique potential of every child to learn, regardless of their perceived limitations.

One of Sonya’s defining qualities as an educator is her steadfast commitment to not prejudge a book by its cover. She extends unwavering support to her students, creating a space where their learning is free from preconceived notions or biases. This approach affords each child the opportunity to flourish, guided by a teacher who values their individuality.

Sonya’s dedication to the field of special education is grounded in three fundamental beliefs.
